In 27 December 2015, episode of "Comedy Nights With Kapil" Kiku has mimicked Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim but this didn't go well with the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda, leading them to file complaint against the actor.
Kiku has been booked under Section 295 A of IPC (Indian Penal Code) for offending the religious feelings of any class by insulting its religious belief or religion.
However on the very next day the actor tweets an apology on Twitter saying that "Doston the act on Tv was not to hurt anyone's feelings. My apologies to @Gurmeetramrahim ji and his followers. Let's spread happiness"
The actor today said that "Usually if some objectionable word is said while performing, it's edited by the channel.This is also channel's responsibility. I am really very very sorry. I am an artist who is given a role , get up and told what to do. I have already apologized. I didn't want to hurt anyone's sentiments."
Gurmeet Ram Rahim is the Dear Sacha Sauda Chief and has nearly 50 million followers.
