"Make In India" Logo Not Designed In India!!!


BJP Government's much-hyped and Mr Narendra Modi's favorite initiative "Make In India's" logo which represents India as a manufacturing hub has been designed by the Indian arm of foreign firm, revealed by an RTI query. The 'Make In India' is the initiative launched on 24 Sept. 2014 by our Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi to promote manufacturing within India transforming India into global manufacturing hub. It is basically the campaign to boost the domestic manufacturing industry and attract the foreign investors to invest in India and its logo is designed to represent India's success in all spheres. 


As per report, in reply to the query of  Madhya-Pradesh based activists- Chandra Shekhar Gaur, the Union and Commerce Ministry said-"No tenders were invited in designing the 'Make In India' logo.

In 2014-15, tenders were invited by the ministry for appointing a creative agency and on its basis, Weiden+Kennedy India Limited, was chosen and it's this company which designed the logo for 'Make In India' logo". This company is the one of the world largest independent advertising agency founded by Weiden+Kennedy in Portland,Oregon. It has offices in China, New York, London, Tokyo and India.

The activists also made the query regarding the total amount paid for creation of 'Make In India' logo in which the ministry replied that "No separate payment was made for the creation of logo".

The ministry said "the company was hired in Rs 11 crore for advertising and promotion of 'Make In India' campaign for 3 years-Rs 4.32 crore for financial year 2014-15, Rs 3.6 crore each for 2015-16 & 2016-17."
