| Sonia and Rahul Gandhi got bail in National Herald Case |
Today Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi appeared before the Patiala House court in National Herald Case hearing and were granted bail in just 5 minutes. The case was filed by BJP leader Dr. Subramanian Swamy for alleged cheating and misappropriation of funds and taking control of now defund National Herald Newspaper.Ex-Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh, many senior leaders and thousands of congress workers accompanied them to hearing. Following are the key facts of the hearing:-
- The duo were granted bail within 5 minutes of hearing.
- Bail given on personal bonds of Rs 50,000/- and surety of Rs 50,000/- each.
- Court rejects Swamy's plea for restriction over their travelling abroad.
- After hearing Sonia Gandhi claimed that Government is targetting political opponents using government machinery.
- Rahul Gandhi also said that " Modi falsely accusing us, We will not be scared".
- Next date of hearing will be 20 feburary.
